This was the only campsite I saw on the river, excluding the last one at the very end near the falls. This campsite was up an inclined rock face up from the portage trail. I wouldn't have gone up there but I saw a small fire ring. I went up to look. I had no idea where I was going to stay. I started the day in the morning at Cache lake and by the time I got here it was evening, time to camp. I was fortunate to find it. Enough room for a tent and I put my canoe between the dark woods behind and my tent. Good view of the river below. I heard a beaver friend swimming down in the water and went to visit him and brush my teeth. I kept the fire going and fell asleep. It got cold and I had to close the tent flaps later in the morning half asleep. Decent stay for one tent. Yes, I carried my canoe up the incline to the campsite. I wasn't about to leave it tied up down below.

The campsite is basically a small slab of rock on the side of the cache river. Not a great site by any means but it's one of the better options on the river. It's got a small hill behind it that is a good spot for additional tents or a cool view of the river.
