The sandbar is super cool. However, this site is just outside the BW, and thus accessible by motorboats and folks who are apparently unfamiliar with Leave No Trace practices. Lots of trash there.

The sandbar was awesome! Our kids had so much fun playing there. The one thing to know is that it is a popular area for the locals that stay in the cabins on the lake to boat over and visit, go fishing, build a bonfire, etc. The campsite had a lot of space. We only stayed one night due to the unexpected visitors. We were happy to get back to the quiet of the BWCA. However, would definitely recommend it for the sandbar. It was pretty unique.

Great campsite. Plenty of places for tents. Sandbar was a neat feature to this island campsite. Firewood was a little hard to find. I found it disturbing that someone put trash in the latrine.
