This portage is only around 90m as marked on the Chrismar WCPP map. Not sure why this website marks it longer? I took the time and cleared out this portage by knocking back the new tree saplings that are growing back from the 2016 fire (not burned in 2021) and blocking the trail. Wider now and easy to follow. Amazing how quickly those trees grow...some are over 6' high. Much easier now. Look for the rock cairns at both entrances marking it.

The portages between Jake and Mexican Hat are a mix of OK to Not Great thanks to the 2016 burn trees falling down. See photos for details.
