Well, Mudhole sure earns its name. That end of the portage finishes on a floating bog. Watch your step or you're going in the hole!

Floating bog on the North end of this - was able to keep dry feet by running all the way in (heading South). If you get out in the inviting flat area at the edge of the bog you will find it very spongy.

Not a bad portage overall, but the last couple rods going into Mudhole Lake are what you might expect from the name. This is floating bog, so watch your step as you approach the edge.
