Landings are a bit rough for any more than one canoe. This one has a bit of elevation change to it but nothing horrible.

Both the landings are very rocky, uneven, and steep, but most of the trail is easy to follow, and the landings are wide enough to accommodate a couple of groups. It is a little muddy in spots.

A very slight climb out of Knife lake gives way to a mostly well worn flat path.

This should be an easy enough portage. One of our group tripped and fell here, which added some excitement. Not a bad portage though to start our day.
