This is a very well-defined path with solid footing. On the Fern Lake side, the beaver dam still has to be lifted over, but even that provided solid footing to work with.

Fairly straight forward and very scenic. The Fern end is difficult to spot as it looks like an extension of the beaver dam from the water. Then it's a stretch of floodwater till the portage itself starts.

A flat path that was slightly overgrown (overhanging branches). A beaver dam on the Fern Lake end flooded the last few rods before the put in.
