what can i say? i agree with the other comments. i went thru here back in the early 1980's but really had no specific memories of this portage. i did it again in may of 2024 after a rather rough day fighting nasty winds all day. i should have stopped for the day but pushed on. this portage is not one to tackle when the gas tank is already near empty. it was a double carry that def took longer than it would have, had i started fresh in the morning. it does have some beautiful scenery on the way though. there is a lovely meadow part way thru. no trouble with the landing on cirrus (fairly high water). the kasa end was a bit swampy but not an issue. i would love to return to kasa again as it is a really nice lake but not sure i would want to come from this direction.

It is a steep, slippery, muddy mess. Fairly challenging.

moderately difficult portage with some steep slick spots. The Cirrus end of the portage is WEST of the swamp, not east as indicated on maps.

Quite the hike. Lots of up and down. A few big boulders and steep descents depending on which way you're going.

Demanding up and down, rocky, and mucky in spots. We carried south to north. South entry point easy to miss.
