Vertical from Bass to the mid-point. and somewhat steep and fancy to the Dry landing. 1 canoe loading at a time on each end. Easy to follow trail with lots of hikers to watch out for. The landing at Bass is difficult with deep water and a hard rock landing. Not bad, but I had a lot of heavy gear because I underestimated the Circle Route. 2nd to last portage of the day and I was way tired.

This portage is short and well maintained, but both landings are tricky. The Bass end is quite steep and the Dry end is narrow and rocky. Also, beware of all the day hikers at the falls if you're not used to pedestrians in front of your portaging canoe!
