A short up-and over. From Bald Eagle the portage is on the left. The exit is OK, but as mentioned there is only room for 1 canoe. The Gabbro side has a lot of rocky areas to launch from, have lunch by the rapids, whatever.

West landing is OK. East landing is tight. It was also hard to get the canoe down to the water since there is a tight turn at the end. The second time through we lined the canoe through the rapids.

Only room for one canoe on the east side of the short portage. West side has lots of landings.

In normal to low water levels do an up and over right next to the rapids. You may have to pull the boat a short distance in the shallows east of the rapids when water level is low. In high water you can do an up and over at the base of the peninsula.
