This is a pretty good campsite and better than it looks from the water. The landing is a shallow rock shelf, which actually makes things fairly easy, especially if you do not mind getting your feet a little wet. There is also a nice canoe storage area down by the landing.
The campsite sits about eight feet up on a rock or cliff, and the main camp area is in the middle of spruce woods. There are some cedar trees, jack pines, and birches as well, but the overall feel is more black spruce than red pine or cedar grove. The site has a nice view of the cliffs to the north and a pretty good view of the rest of Amber Lake.
There are two good tent pads and four maximum tent pads, all in the same main camp area. It is a decent, usable site, and while the other campsite on the lake is much better, this one would certainly do if that one were taken. The latrine is a little bit of a climb, with some steep steps to get up there.

Smallish but workable rock shelf landing and a perfect storage area just up off the lake for at least 2-3 canoes. Trail up to main camp was overgrown. Good log seating around fire grate but no decent view of lake from there. Main camping area was a bit too open for my tastes and the site in general was very brushy. Water drops off steeply right from shore (jumping/swimming).
