8/5/2014 - Landing is rocky. Made getting in and out for swimming difficult because the rocks are sharp. The kitchen is up high. There is one tent pad next to the kitchen. The others are down by the water. The area behind the campsite was burned, but the campsite itself was untouched.
5/28/2026 - In 2014, I stayed here one night with a scout troop. I visited again in 2026 to see if anything had changed. It looked much like I remember except that the burn area had grown a bit more.
The landing is pretty good. It is wide enough that it looks like two canoes could fit and unload at the same time. There is also a tent pad near the landing that could be used for canoe storage if needed. From the landing, it is a rocky, gravelly path up to the kitchen area.
The kitchen is shaded by a cedar tree in the morning and maybe early afternoon, though later in the day it will probably be in full sun. Along the shore there is a line of red and white pines, so there is always shade available down by the water if I wanted to set up chairs there. The site itself is fairly open, but the shoreline trees give it a nice feel. Behind the site, the area burned a while ago and has a lot of young growth, while the campsite and shoreline trees were untouched.
Most of the tent pads are along the shore under the red and white pines. There are two good tent pads there, and I could squeeze a third one in that area. The best tent pad is up the grassy hill near the kitchen; it is probably the flattest area in the campsite, but it will also be in the sun for much of the day. I found three good tent pads and six maximum tent pads overall. There is also a big red pine grove just north of the campsite, although it is too rocky for tents.

Loved the pads near the water. We got 3 tents in easy. Nice grill grate area and good fishing.
