We entered at East Bearskin late afternoon and planned to stay on Alder Lake. The sites were full on Alder and we were lucky enough to find this site on Canoe Lake open. The site sits up high with a view to the east. We found good tent pads for our 2- 3 person tents with plenty of room for up to 5 tents. Good kitchen/fire grate area.

Couple of small landing areas a bit off from main area; both are adequate. Exquisite elevated site that is canopied by some large, majestic pines and shrouded by plentiful cedars provided an idyllic setting, good tarp & hammock options and panoramic view of much of the lake. At least 2 excellent tent pads and room for more. Legal firewood was tough to come by as evidenced by the trails running out from camp deep into the woods.

Small gravel landing a little to the south of the site proper. The campsite itself is in a picturesque red and white pine grove. The kitchen is raised above the water with a nice view. Shaded. I like the campsite to the east a little more, but this is also a very nice site, and I would not hesitate to stay here.

Excellent elevated kitchen area with tent pads up and down. Good enough landing area and lots of canoe storage. Fire pit was up on a small hill so would be plenty breezy. Caught walleyes after an easy float through to Paddle Lake.

Easy to see if this is open from the Alder-Canoe portage. Shallow landing makes for decent water access, though the long shallow section makes for mediocre shore fishing potential. Very nice view above the lake. No excellent tent pads - the best is near the landing, but it's a low point, so will get a lot of runoff if it rains. The rest of the pads have a mixture of roots and rocks or a significant slope. Plenty of great hammock spots though. Enjoyed my stay here. Make sure you visit Paddle - an absolutely striking gem of a lake.

Landing is a little tight and rocky. This is a very shady spot with lots of cover (great if you're expecting rain, not so great if you're looking for some sun). Two decent tent pads near the fireplace and another a little ways back. Plenty of spots for hammocks. The latrine was getting full when we were there.

An excellent site, open and elevated, with lots of southern and eastern exposure rocks down to the water for catching morning and midday sun. Caught a Smallie big enough to eat just off the campsite.

Nice open yet private campsite with good morning sun and plenty of afternoon shade. Campsite is raised up a bit with great veiws of the lake from the fire ring. Laterine is also relativly close but private. Also a great spot to land a canoe or two. Paddle lake is also accessable from the campsite. We weren't able to catch any fish on Canoe or Paddle but caught some bass right by the portages (leading from Canoe) on both Crystal and Alder. Would definatley stay here again! NOTE: Be careful with hanging food, squirrels were able to get into our bear bag a couple times despite trying our best to keep them out (seems like people have fead them). We ended up having to take our food with us when we would leave camp.

Decent site. Could probably have an extra tent pad but it would down hill, and would get wet when it rains? Whoever stayed there before us in during the first week of June 2015 cut lots of live cedars and peeled bark off live birch.. Still a nice site with great views of the lake and access to surrounding lakes. We couldn't catch a single fish in Canoe, but did very well on the surrounding lakes for Smallies and Lake Trout.
