I arrived at this camp after leaving the S. side of Cherokee. I did this trip in late September, coming down the Frost all day. It was amazing. Challengnig, but amazing! The campsite is nothing special. It's about 20' above the water, and there's no great way to climb up and down without risk of slipping and face planting. The tent pads are there. Not great, but they will work after a long day on the Frost. We had bevers slapping the water all evening. Elk in the water just before sunrise. Two bald eagles the next morning perched across the lake from us eating fish. Owls hooting all night long. This is an isolate, remote site. The portage after this campsite, heading toward Little Sag is straight up and straight down. Like a 55 degree angle. So be aware, be safe.

Somewhere between two and three stars for me. It was a long day, so I was glad to find the site open. The landing was a little difficult because of the steepness and the loose sand. It was hard to get traction going up the hill. Once you are up there, though, the view is great. There is a nice sitting rock near the kitchen, but there is not much seating around the grate. There are a few large jack pines. Two good tent pads - one is near the kitchen, the other on the path to the latrine. There are not many places for hammocks, which I had, so I had to be inventive.

Small, much appreciated respite after the many portages and beaver dams on the Frost river. Entry is a bit steep to the elevated site. One large tent spot close to the fire grate. Another tucked in on the way to the privy. Limited hammock options.

Not a pretty site, we only ate lunch here. It would do the trick and would have privacy, but I would only stay here if I had to.

Two tents will definitely crowd this small site. The site was a bit overgrown and the seating in the grill area left a lot to be desired. No good options for two hammocks. One hammock is doable, however, we had two so we had to get creative. The elevation, view, and solitude make up for the other shortcomings.

High up campsite, lacks some shade so it can get hot. Doesn't get much traffic.
