I visit the BWCA or Quetico almost monthly throughout the year, including winter overnight trips. I tend to cover high mileage (16-24 miles/day) and travel light over 4-to-6-day trips. In wet water season, I mostly canoe trip, with usually one backpacking trip in the BWCA. In hard water season, I typically nordic ski with a toboggan and hot tent, though I have done a little early winter trail cold-tent backpacking as well.
